- Required lab tests: full blood test, ESR, pro-thrombin, Na K, renal function,liver function, blood sugar level, time of bleeding, time of blood coagulation, urine test after washing midstream), ECG (over the age of 40).
- Please also read the information on this website concerning facial/facelift surgery so that you can find answers to all your questions - should you have any other questions please do ask.
- The operation should be planned between two menstrual cycles as less bleeding will occur.
- Two weeks prior to surgery you should take a multivitamin tablet (Centrum, Supradyn, etc) and also 1000mg daily of Vitamin C.
- For two to three days prior to surgery you should wash yourself with antibacterial shower gel (Hibiclens, Betadine).
- You should arrange to bring a supply of your preferred and usual painkillers with you for use during your recovery. (Whilst in the clinic pain medication will of course be administered to you as required)
- On the day of surgery you must arrive at the clinic with an empty stomach,and no food or drink should be consumed after midnight the day before the operation (not even
a couple of sips of your morning coffee or tea!). If you need to take any prescribed medication (notified to the surgeon before coming over to Budapest) please take this with the minimum amount of water.
- You should bring a robe, nightdress/pyjamas and slippers, and comfortable easy to put on clothing so that after your facelift/eyelid surgery,when you leave the clinic, you will not be pulling anything over your head (suggested are button through or zipped top, tracksuit bottoms or other easy to pull, without
bending, trousers or skirt).
- You should not wear any make-up, nail polish, body lotion, tanning lotions, or other creams or lotions, on the day of surgery - and you should take out contact lenses, removable dentures and any body piercing's/jewellery.
- Valuables, jewellery, cash, etc, should not be brought to the clinic on the day of surgery as the clinic is unable to take any responsibility for such items.
- Any support/compression garment/s required post-op will be provided by the clinic.
- The total costs for the surgery must be paid in full to Linda Briggs UK or Linda Briggs in Hungary in advance, otherwise the surgery cannot go ahead.
- Suggested treatments for the scars, after the sutures have been removed are: silicone gel (ie MEDGEL) - silicone sheets (MEPIFORM) - Aloe Vera First Spray and gel.
If you follow the instructions above, you will have taken every step possible to help ensure a successful results - the rest is up to the surgeon and the clinic!
