THE ZICHY PALAZZO HOTEL

Hotel Palazzo Zichy – where history meets the present!  A historical building originally designed and built in the 19^th century as the residence of the famous Hungarian nobleman, Count Nándor Zichy.

The wife of the Count, LíviaZichy, commissioned the building of the neo-Baroque Palace on Lőrinc pap tér in 1899.

Previously, the building plot had of course many different owners.  In 1914 Lívia Klára inherited the Palace, which she then sold, in 1928, to Countess Emma Károlyi.  In the 1860’s this part of the city became the Palace quarter of Pest because of the large number of new palace buildings being built close to the National Museum.  However, this was not the only reason why Lívia chose this very spot in the city.

The Heart of Jesus Jesuit Church, a neighbour of the palace ,was one of the favourite churches of the Count.  At the time the palace was built the Zichy family were living in Adony, so presumably they used this palace during their business trips to Budapest.

The Hotel Anna is a 3 star budget option for those travelling to Budapest for cosmetic surgery and only requiring a short stay before returning home. Very friendly and welcoming - rooms are clean but no frills!

It is located in the ‘Palace’ Quarter of ’Józsefváros’, in a quiet side street 300 metres from Blaha Lujza ter and was opened in 1999.  It is a small and friendly hotel offering very good rates

There are 30 single and double rooms and 5 apartments.  Each room has an ensuite bath/shower room, telephone, fridge, safe, colour TV.  Wireless Internet is available free of charge in the lounge area

The Deluxe apartments are approximately 70 sqm and offer a bedroom and sitting room together with a bathroom with corner bath and can accommodate a maximum of 4 people. Also there is a small kitchenette.

The Junior suite can accommodate 3 people – approximately 50 sqm – with entrance hall, bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom.

Buffet Breakfast is included in the room rate served in the breakfast room downstairs

Parking is available in the courtyard.

Restaurant
The Hotel does not have a restaurant within the building but the ’Fülemüle’ Restaurant is only 20 metres from the hotel and under the same ownership as the hotel.  This is a popular eating place for Budapest’s residents and visitors alike and the restaurant has received many accolades. It offers Central European, Jewish and traditional foods on its menu.
